II. Service Summary:
With a goal of assisting 3,750 Twin City ex-offenders and first generation immigrants successfully integrate into
the workforce, Emerge * AmeriCorps offers a unique service for AmeriCorps members to make a difference
in the lives of people who encounter multiple barriers in securing gainful employment. Emerge * AmeriCorps
members will work closely with their host site and site-supervisors to implement five core services that increase
participant employability and enhance partner site capacity to effectively serve their constituents.
III. Site Summary:
Emerge * AmeriCorps will be placing 20 full-time and 10 part-time members at approximately 16 partner
agency sites that serve ex-offenders and first generation immigrants. This template job description is relevant for
all sites. In the near future, this section of the service description will provide a brief agency overview.
IV. Service Expectations and Benefits:
Full-time Emerge * AmeriCorps members serve a minimum of 1700 hours from 8/23/10 to 8/22/11 and
receive a modest living allowance ($983/month pre-tax); basic health insurance; and $4725 Education Award
upon successful completion of service. Part-time Emerge * AmeriCorps members serve a minimum of 900
hours of service and receive a modest living allowance ($491/month pre-tax); and a$2,675 Education Award
upon successful completion of service. All Emerge * AmeriCorps members may qualify for student loan
deferral and receive ongoing support and training.
V. Core Service Functions:
Emerge * AmeriCorp members provide documented services to approximately 75-150 targeted individuals
via five core services including:
· Facilitate soft skills/work readiness training with the target population (first time
offenders) - Provide weekly group and individualized trainings/workshops (World of Work, Computer
Literacy, specific topics that are unique to the needs of those served) to increase work readiness and job
search skills. Maintain attendance and administer pre/post testing.
· Provide individualized job readiness/placement assistance – With host site personnel,
conduct needs assessments and develop an employment plan that includes up to 8 possible services
including: (1) resume development, (2) job application assistance, (3) preparing for interviews, (4) job
search, (5) public transportation training (for immigrants), (6) securing identification, (7) connecting to
community supports (i.e. housing, childcare, health, counseling, etc), and (8) job placement.
· Organize a quarterly site-based celebratory event - In working with people who face significant
obstacles to employment, members will increase positive reinforcement by periodically celebrating
individual client successes (i.e. job, sobriety benchmark, securing housing, family successes, completing
AmeriCorps Member Service Description

groups/trainings, etc). Once each quarter, Emerge * AmeriCorps members will team with their host
sites to organize and implement a site-based event to recognize client successes.
· Recruit and support community volunteers to further enhance site capacity to serve
constituents - Each week, members will spend approximately 1-2+ hours on volunteer recruitment
activities. Volunteer roles/needs will be negotiated with host sites. Over the program year, each member
is expected to recruit an average of 10 one-time and 5 ongoing community volunteers who collectively
contribute 150 hours of service. The member insures that volunteer hours are tracked.
· Civic engagement activities - Emerge * AmeriCorps members will be mobilized for several large
group service projects (MLK Service Day and National AmeriCorps week) and with guidance, will
develop and implement at least five civic engagement activities.
VI. Position Requirements and Qualifications:
Requirements:
· Must be at least 17 years of age; must be a US citizen, national or legal permanent resident alien of the
US; must successfully pass a criminal history background check
Desired Qualifications:
· 2 years of post secondary education or an equivalent number of years of relevant work experience
· Previous experiences (paid and unpaid) in core service activities and with the targeted populations
· Demonstrated commitment and ability to fulfill a one-year service requirement
· A compelling interest in service to others and affecting positive change
· Ability to facilitate trainings to small groups (with training provided)
· Self motivated with ability to deal with ambiguity, take initiative and be adaptable, flexible, and patient
· Ability to build relationships and work across cultures
· An openness to training, supervision and constructive criticism
· The ability to read, write and speak English at high school level – with bi-lingual candidates preferred

CRIMINAL HISTORY
The AmeriCorps application process requires a criminal history check to ensure community members with whom we work are
protected, particularly children, individuals with disabilities, and individuals over 60 years of age. We are investigating for past
sexual offenses and violent crimes, or crime that would have a direct bearing on your service. This background check will entail
our search of the National Sex Offenders Registry and an FBI criminal history check, which will require being fingerprinted at Pre-
Service Orientation. You will not be permitted to serve or work with vulnerable populations without supervision until the history
check is complete and you are cleared.

March 7th there will be a Guitar Hero 3 tournament to raise money for the local band RumPunch to record an album. It will be taking place at The Medina Entertainment Center, sign up will start at 7pm and the tournament at 8pm. NEW Davids Bridal T8580 Wedding gown Size 6

Dress is completely unaltered. Satin A-Line gown with split. Champagne over-skirt and waist-defining detail. Bodice and inset feature beaded lace. The Chapel train was the selling point for me. It has gorgeous detail. I was going to wear a matilla veil with it at it looked just breathtaking together.

Included in auction is a two tier slip skirt that is worn under the dress. This is a $500 dress and can be yours for a fraction of the price. It is gorgeous and still in mint condition, as it is new. If you have the chance, I suggest you go to Davids and try the dress on. I am sure you will fall in love with it as I did.

For those of you concerned about the size. If it helps, this dress fits me perfect. I weigh around 120-127 lbs. I am 5'5" and there is enough room for 1-2" heels. My bust size is a 34 B. I think it would work for a larger bust and a smaller one depending on the bra you decide to wear.

As many bidders may have an urgency for the gown, I will ship it as soon as payment is received. I have next day service for those who need it now.
